관계절이란?
"who"는 사람, "which"는 사물, "whose"는 소유, "where"는 장소, "when"은 시간을 나타냅니다.

제한적·계속적 관계절
defining clause는 필수 정보라 쉼표가 없습니다: "The student who sits next to me is from Brazil." non-defining clause는 추가 정보라 쉼표를 쓰며 "that"을 쓸 수 없습니다.

관계대명사 생략
목적어인 경우 "The book I bought is useful."처럼 생략할 수 있지만, 주어인 "The student who called me is my classmate."에서는 생략할 수 없습니다. Pronoun guide.
실수와 연습
"The book that I bought it is useful."처럼 대명사를 중복하지 마세요. 올바른 문장은 "The book that I bought is useful."입니다. This also strengthens writing skills.

수량 표현과 전체 내용 지칭
"many of whom"과 "two of which"는 집단의 일부를 설명합니다. 계속적 관계절의 "which"는 앞의 전체 내용을 가리킬 수도 있습니다.

Can "that" refer to people?
Yes in defining clauses, although "who" is often more natural. It cannot introduce a non-defining clause.
