I go"と"I can go," "I should go," "I must go."
Modal Verbsとは?

主なmodal verbsは"can," "could," "may," "might," "must," "shall," "should," "will," "would"です。
subject + modal verb + base verb
- "She can speak English."
- "You should review the lesson."
- "They might arrive late."
- "We must finish the assignment."
She cans speak English."
She can speak English."
We must to leave."
We must leave."
do," "does," "did"は不要です。
- "Can you help me?"
- "Should we reserve a table?"
- "Would they understand the instructions?"
- "I cannot attend."
- "You should not worry."
- "They might not agree."
can't," "couldn't," "shouldn't," "mustn't," "won't," "wouldn't"などの短縮形もあります。
CanとCould
- "I can understand the lesson."
- "Can I sit here?"
- "When I was younger, I could run fast."
- "Could you repeat that, please?"
- "The meeting could end early."
- "The door was locked, but we were able to open it."
MayとMight
- "She may join the class tomorrow."
- "The answer might be correct."
- "May I leave early?"
過去の可能性は"may have"または"might have"+past participleです。
- "He may have missed the train."
- "They might have misunderstood the email."
Should
- "You should practice speaking every day."
- "We should reply before Friday."
- "The bus should arrive in ten minutes."
- "I should have studied earlier."
MustとHave To
- "You must show identification."
- "I must finish this report today."
- "She has studied for hours. She must be tired."
- "He had to leave early."
- "We will have to wait."
- "You must not enter"
- "You do not have to enter"
WillとWould
- "I will call you tonight."
- "I will help you."
- "Would you help me?"
- "I would travel more if I had time."
- "I would like a cup of coffee."
Shall I open the window?"
"have to," "be able to," "be allowed to," "be supposed to," "had better"も、modalに似た意味を持ちます。
- "She was able to attend."
- "We will have to wait."
- "Open the window."
- "Can you open the window?"
- "Could you open the window?"
- "Would you mind opening the window?"
